Wireless Internet is easily integrated into your existing network. Any PC (Pentium 133MHz or higher ) with an Ethernet interface can act as the gateway and be instantaneously provided with a wireless connection to Kokonet.

Our wireless connections will operate at high speed of up to 2Mbps and down to a guaranteed minimum of 64Kbps. That's 60 times faster than 33.6 dial-up modems. We have bandwidth management hardware to ensure that the speed does not go below your agreed speed as per your contract.

This is installed on the gateway PC, with is connected to your LAN. The gateway PC can be running, Win95/98, Windows 2000 or Linux. It also act as the default router to your LAN and run NAT services. We recommend that your install additional firewall software on this gateway PC to protect your internal network. There is a number of firewall software available on the market today.

Availability
In order to benefit from our wireless access, you must have line-of-sight between your roof and one of our antennas. You must also be located within 8km of the antenna.
       
This means you must be able to see our antenna with no trees, buildinsg or other obstacles in the path.
      
Our antennas are located in the following areas : Central Bank, SIBA, Mnt. Signal, Roche Bois, Bel Ombre, Sans Soucis, Petit Paris, Anse Faure, Fairy Land, La Misere & Anse Soleil meaning we have coverage all over Mahe.
